The Second Additional District and Sessions Court in Davanagere sentenced a man from Nerlige village to life imprisonment after finding him guilty of murdering his mother. According to the prosecution, repeated disputes had taken place over the transfer of family land. During an argument in October 2023, the accused attacked his mother with a roof tile, causing fatal injuries. After reviewing the evidence presented by Mayakonda police and the prosecution, the court convicted him and also imposed a ₹3 lakh fine, with ₹2.5 lakh directed as compensation to the victim’s family.
